1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of ExpenseManager ("the App"), a mobile personal finance application available on the Apple App Store, developed and operated by AtherByte Labs ("we," "us," "our," or "Licensor"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms apply to all users of the App regardless of their country of residence. ExpenseManager is a personal finance management tool designed for tracking expenses, income, accounts, budgets, bills, recurring subscriptions, savings goals, debts, and financial reporting—all stored locally on your device.

2. License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, personal license to download and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App or any part of its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where applicable law expressly permits it
• Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose, including unauthorized account access or data manipulation
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise transfer the App or any rights to it to any third party
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices on the App

3. App Functionality and Local Data Storage

ExpenseManager provides personal financial management functionality including transaction tracking (expenses, income, transfers, refunds), account management, budget creation and monitoring, recurring bill and subscription tracking, savings goal management, debt record keeping, receipt scanning and attachment, financial analytics and reports, and spending insights. All financial data is stored exclusively and permanently on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data leaves your device without your explicit manual action (such as exporting data or sending support email).

Receipt scanning uses Apple's VisionKit framework and on-device machine learning models (Foundation Models). All receipt processing occurs on your device; receipt images are not sent to external servers or to Apple.

IMPORTANT: The App is provided for personal financial tracking and informational purposes only and does NOT constitute financial advice, accounting services, tax guidance, investment advice, or professional financial consultation. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any calculations, reports, or data for accuracy and for maintaining records for tax, audit, or regulatory purposes. You should consult with a qualified financial advisor, accountant, or tax professional before making any financial decisions based on information from the App.

4. Financial Data Responsibility and Device Security

You acknowledge that ExpenseManager stores sensitive financial information on your device including account balances, transaction histories, bills, receipts, and personal financial details. You are solely responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your device through a strong passcode and keeping iOS up to date with security patches
• Using the App's biometric lock feature (Face ID / Touch ID) if available and desired
• Not sharing your device or App access with untrusted parties
• Exporting and maintaining backups of your data if you wish to preserve an additional copy
• Notifying us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access to your device or the App

5. Data Export and Personal Backups

ExpenseManager allows you to manually export your financial data in CSV and JSON formats through the App's export feature. You may use these exports for personal record-keeping, tax preparation, analysis in other applications, or backup purposes. Exported data is stored only where you direct it and we are not responsible for managing or securing exported files. You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your exported data.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, graphics, source code, trademarks, and other elements within the App are the intellectual property of the Licensor or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms are reserved. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Your use of the App is at your own risk and discretion.

We do not guarantee:

• That financial calculations will be 100% accurate in all scenarios
• That receipt scanning will work perfectly in all lighting and image conditions
• That the App will remain available or function correctly on all future iOS versions
• That data will remain intact in the event of device failure, storage corruption, accidental deletion, or device theft
• That automatic synchronization between household members will occur without delay

In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the sole responsibility of the Licensor.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, financial loss, or any other damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

In particular, we are not liable for:

• Loss or corruption of financial data on your device
• Financial decisions made based on App calculations or reports
• Missing or incorrect categorization of transactions
• Calculation errors in budgets, goals, or analytics
• Missed bill payments, subscription cancellations, or financial obligations due to app malfunction or user oversight
• Unauthorized access to your data due to device compromise

9. Product Claims and Third-Party Beneficiary

The Licensor, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content, and for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

You acknowledge that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

10. Premium Subscription and In-App Purchases

ExpenseManager offers optional premium subscription tiers with additional features such as advanced analytics, forecast reports, and enhanced tracking capabilities. SUBSCRIPTION PRICING AND TERMS: Subscription charges are billed according to the terms you agree to in the App Store at the time of purchase. Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it.

CANCELLATION: You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel, go to Settings > Subscriptions > ExpenseManager and tap "Cancel Subscription." Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to premium features until the end of that period. No refunds will be provided for the unused portion of your subscription.

AUTOMATIC RENEWAL NOTICE: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it in advance. You will be charged the renewal price shown at the time of purchase. If the price increases, we will notify you, and you must accept the new price to continue your subscription. Cancellation must be made through your Apple ID settings before the renewal date.

REFUND POLICY: No refunds are available for partial billing periods. Once you cancel, your access to premium features ceases at the end of your current billing period. All refund requests must be made through Apple's App Store, not through us.

11. No Maintenance or Support; Apple's Role

Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App. The App is made available through the Apple App Store, and your use of the App is also subject to the applicable Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. We are not responsible for Apple's services, policies, or any issues arising from the App Store platform itself.

12. Privacy Policy and App Privacy Label

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The privacy practices disclosed in our Privacy Policy and in the App Store Privacy Label accurately represent the data collection and use practices of ExpenseManager. If there is any conflict between these Terms and our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy governs all matters relating to privacy and data handling.

13. Legal Compliance and Export Restrictions

You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You further agree to comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations in connection with your use of the App, including any data protection, financial recordkeeping, and privacy laws applicable in your jurisdiction.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your license to use the App at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in any conduct that we reasonably consider harmful to other users, to us, or to the App. Upon termination, all data stored on your device remains under your control.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If we make material changes that negatively affect your rights, we will provide notice through the App.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles, regardless of your country of residence or the country from which you access or use the App. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country of residence.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the App Store terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Licensor regarding your use of the App and supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the App.
